If you need to repair your garage door opener, The Good Guys Garage Door works on most major brands and can run your overhead garage door smoothly in no time. Whether the problem lies with the opener’s transmitter or remote batteries, your overhead door opener may be to blame if your garage door won’t open. If your opener makes an odd grinding noise, it’s probably not working correctly. When any of these issues happen, call your service technician immediately.

Garage door springs ensure your door opens and closes smoothly. Overhead garage door springs are mighty, and if they break, the garage door may unexpectedly fall. Because broken garage door springs pose significant safety risks, you must ensure they are in safe working condition year-round. It’s also best to enlist the help of a professional for spring repair or replacement, as replacing a garage door spring may result in injury. Broken or faulty springs can also cause the opener to burn out from working harder. Repairing or replacing your garage door springs will help save you money in the long run.

Has your overhead door garage come off the track? If so, The Good Guys Garage Door Repair can help restore your garage door to its proper position. We can supply the right parts for all overhead doors if you only need track replacement parts.

Garage door rollers are the little wheels that ride along the track of your overhead door. They come in numerous types and allow rolling doors to roll. If your overhead garage door rollers become noisy, you must replace them. When your garage door rollers work correctly, your entry will run quietly and smoothly.

The average garage door will go up and down more than 1,000 times yearly. Regular garage door preventive maintenance ensures your operating system continues to run smoothly without posing potential risks to pets, property, or household members. With too much wear and tear and improper maintenance, overhead doors can lock, stick or even fall on cars or other objects that get in the way.

Did you know regular overhead garage door maintenance costs less than repairs? Regular garage door maintenance can also improve safety conditions and increase the life expectancy of your garage door opener, hardware, and parts. We recommend an annual garage door tune-up to help ensure reliable, quiet operation and safety for your overhead door.

Before we get started, remember that any accident — including your overhead door getting damaged or dented by a moving vehicle — requires the help of a professional. An experienced technician, such as the ones at The Good Guys Garage Door Repair, can inspect your overhead door for free. Some accidents require inspection and systems testing that standard garage door maintenance cannot cover.

When you trust the trained professionals at The Good Guys Garage Door Repair, you’re guaranteed comprehensive, cost-effective solutions that will keep your garage door in safe operational condition. Our technicians will perform the following preventive maintenance:

  • Perform a safety inspection on the door as well as on the opener or operator
  • Tighten lag screws, nuts, and other hardware
  • Ensure the tracks are aligned, straight, and tight
  • Apply lubricant to moving parts
  • Inspect bottom fixtures, shafts, drums, cables, bearing plate, and spring anchor attachment.
  • Remove excess debris buildup from the tracks and photo-eye sensors
  • Determine if springs need to be re-tensioned
  • Inspect the garage door’s spring system for signs of excessive rust or wear and tear.

Remember, a garage door makes up approximately one-third of the exterior of your house, so performing regular preventive maintenance is crucial. When in-between annual maintenance checks, observe your garage door’s daily operation and note any unusual behavior, noises, or debris buildup. Call us today to schedule your professional garage door maintenance!

Chickasha is in the Grady County, Oklahoma, United States county seat. The population was 16,051 at the 2020 census, a 0.1% increase from 2010. Chickasha is home to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. The city is named for and strongly connected to Native American heritage, as “Chickasha” (Chikashsha) is the Choctaw word for Chickasaw.

Chickasha was founded by Hobart Johnstone Whitley, a land developer, banker, farmer, and Rock Island Railroad executive. The founding occurred in 1892 when the Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railway (Rock Island) built a track through Indian Territory. A post office was established in June 1892. One of the earliest industrial plants to come to Chickasha was the Cotton Oil Company, based in 1899. The town was incorporated in 1902.

At the time of its founding, Chickasha was located in Pontotoc County, Chickasaw Nation.

1908 the Oklahoma Industrial Institute and College for Girls were established in Chickasha. A local rancher named J. B. Sparks donated land for the school in memory of his daughter, Nellie. The girl was a Chickasaw descendant, and the land had been part of her allotment. The Nellie Sparks Dormitory commemorated her. The school was renamed the Oklahoma College for Women in 1916. It became coeducational in 1965 and was renamed the Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts. It was renamed again in 1975 as the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

The Wilson and Bonfis Flying School opened in October 1941 to train U.S. Army Air Force cadets. Over eight thousand cadets completed teaching there during World War II. After the war, the facility became the Chickasha Municipal Airport.

Also, during the war, the army built and used Borden General Hospital. This site now contains Grady Memorial Hospital, Five Oaks Medical Group, Southern Plains Medical Center, and Borden Park.

A prisoner of war camp established in 1944 is now the site of the Grady County Fairgrounds.

Chickasha is located west of the center of Grady County and is 42 miles southwest of Oklahoma City, accessible via Interstate 44 (the H. E. Bailey Turnpike). I-44 passes through the city’s southeast side, with access from Exits 80 and 83, and leads southwest 47 miles to Lawton. U.S. Route 62 runs through the city as Choctaw Avenue, leading east and then northeast 18 miles to Blanchard and west 18 miles to Anadarko. U.S. Route 81 passes through the city center, leading south 40 miles to Duncan and north 35 miles to El Reno. U.S. Route 277 enters Chickasha from the south with U.S. 81 and leaves to the east with U.S. 62.

Line Creek passes through the north part of the city and flows into the Washita River about one-mile northeast of the town.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.1 square miles, of which 0.04 square miles, or 0.22%, is water. The Washita River flows through the city’s northern end, then turns south and forms part of the city’s eastern border.

Arts and Culture

The city’s annual Festival of Light takes place at the 43-acre Shannon Springs Park and opens nightly from around Thanksgiving to the end of December. Concessions, carriage rides, pictures with Santa, and shopping are available. The Festival of Light has received many prestigious awards, including Regional Event of the Year, A.B.A. Top 100 Event, National Top 25 Holiday Event, Festival of the Year, Best Community Festival Event, and Best Place to Take Out of Town Visitors. The festival has been featured statewide on Discover Oklahoma, ranked as a Top Place to Visit by Fine Living Network (2004), and designated as an official 2007 Oklahoma Centennial Event. Over 140 businesses and clubs sponsor the event in various ways. The installation of lights in 290 trees, 8 miles of walkways, bridges, arbors, gazebos, and buildings begins in September; however, it takes through March to get the lights taken down and stored away. More than 1,200 volunteers donate time and skill; now, Display Sponsors have reached 100. The park has over 3.5 million lights, and the crystal pedestrian bridge boasts over 75,000 lights alone. It draws together over a thousand local volunteers and more than 250,000 visitors across the United States.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma hosts an annual festival, the Spring Triad, comprising the Montmartre Chalk Art Festival, the Droverstock music festival, and the Scholastic Meet. The event is held annually on the first Thursday of April. The art festival is held around the USAO Oval, where over 700 artists compete in a chalk art contest. Droverstock features over 12 hours of live music from various bands of all styles and genres. Many vendors, inflatables, and activities are also associated with the festival. The Scholastic Meet attracts around 1000 students annually from over 50 Oklahoma counties who compete in academic disciplines such as math, science, music, history, and other subjects. The competition is the most significant literary meet in the state. Overall, the day-long event attracts thousands into the community.

The Muscle Car Ranch, located on the south edge of Chickasha, hosts an annual swap meet and concert, which is held in August. The Ranch, located on 70 acres of a 1900s dairy farm, features hundreds of nostalgic advertisements and memorabilia representing the last 75 years of American history. The concert featured rock and roll groups such as The Byrds, The Grass Roots, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Jefferson Airplane, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Firefall, John Conlee, Dr. Hook, and Bad Company.

From a small local swapmeet, the Chickasha Pre-war Swap Meet has evolved into one of the significant swapmeets for car owners and collectors of cars from before 1942 (World War II). According to numerous posts in the forum of the Model T Club of America, the Chickasha Pre-war Swap Meet is considered the best Ford Model T swapmeet in the US
